Event Description
On Oct. 4, 2009, Kim was murdered during a home invasion, but her spirit is very much alive inspiring compassion in others. It is in honor of Kim's spirit that the scholarship foundation was created. Proceeds from the first-ever Kimberly L. Cates Memorial Scholarship 5K Heal the Soul Run/Walk will benefit Kim Cates Memorial Scholarship Fund, which supports young people as they begin their post-secondary studies in medicine. $15 adults; $10, 18 and under ($20 race day adult and $15 race day 18 and under). 7 p.m. (Free kids run at 6:30 p.m.)
