I am a native of Baltimore, Maryland. As an IT consultant, I traveled to various cities for years taking on many projects. I eventually took up residence in Austin,TX for 3.5 years and now I reside in Chicago, IL. In 2005, I co-founded of a non-profit organization (Women.Identity.Purpose.org) whose purpose was to help single working poor mothers go back to school or start a business. Since then, I have been ultra busy helping teens and pre-teens through personal coaching, research, and outreach. I am a writer for the Chicago Examiner as well as a sought after public speaker. My first book (and workbook), "The C.H.A.M.P. Within" will be released in April 2010.
Given all of the pressures and issues today’s tweens face, the internet is both a blessing and, potentially, a curse. Many local companies and entrepreneurs are taking up the cause to make the internet, and specifically social networking, a safer environment for tweens.
