Events, features and things to do for families in New Hampshire
On Oct. 25, Portsmouth’s Seacoast Mental Health Center will host the 13th Erik Cogswell Memorial Conference: Impact of Mental Illness on Child and Adolescent Development. Nationally known Dr. Ross Greene, Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and originator of the Collaborative Problem Solving approach, will serve as this year’s keynote speaker.
Other scheduled speakers include NH Hospital’s Dr. R. Joffree Barrnett; Community Educator and Prevention Specialist Ann Duckless; Claudia Ferber, Child and Family Programs Director of NH National Alliance on Mental Illness; Mary H. Grillo, Special Education Intake Specialist at Parent Information Center; and SMHC’s Dr. Dick Guare and Jodie Lubarsky.
Designed for professionals, community members, and families, the conference will review many of the latest tools and strategies concerning how to best address the needs of children with mental illness and behavioral issues.
The 13th Erik Cogswell Memorial Conference is Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Harbor Events & Conference Center in downtown Portsmouth. Registration is $35 for consumers/family members and $125 for professionals, providers, and educators with 4 Continuing Education Credits (CEUs). Lunch included.
