Nurturing Parenting series offered by Family Resource Center

NASHUA – As parents, we all experience the joys – and challenges – that come in raising our children. The Family Resource Center of Greater Nashua is offering area parents and caregivers the opportunity to discuss issues related to parenting at a special sixteen-week series of workshops that will be offered in four-week modules. Come to one module or join us for all!

The workshop is designed specifically for parents and others who are parenting children under age five. The series will run from Tuesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua, 47 Grand Ave.

The first module will start Oct. 24 and run through Nov. 13.

The program is being facilitated by Prevention Makes Cents and offered in collaboration with Child and Family Services.

Weekly topics of discussion will include:

  • Nurturing behaviors, including infant massage and how it impacts healthy physical, social, emotional and brain development
  • Ages and stages of development of young children
  • The importance of establishing routines for young children
  • Managing stress and disciplining young children
  • Supporting positive development of children’s self-worth
  • Developing personal power for children and adults
