Parenting Your School Age Child is topic of Family Resource Center workshops in October

NASHUA – Living and growing together with your school age child. It's an exciting time for both of you as your children continue to learn new skills and ways to communicate with the world around them. Join other parents in October for a variety of special workshops designed to help you parent your child during these exciting early elementary school years.

The workshops are scheduled for Tuesday evenings throughout October,  beginning Oct. 9. Weekly themes include:

  • Oct. 9: Children, Parents and School Bullying (offered in cooperation with the UNH Cooperative Extension)
  • Oct. 16: Parenting Styles
  • Oct. 23: Discipline vs Punishment
  • Oct. 30: After School Activities: How Much is Too Much.

Each workshop runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. They are held at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua, 47 Grand Ave., Nashua. The program is presented by Stacey Beeley, BSW of Child and Family Services. Sharon Cowen from the UNH Cooperative Extension co-presents the Bullying workshop on Oct. 9.

Pre-registration for each workshop is strongly suggested. Call Lori Fowler at the Boys & Girls Club at 883-0523, ext. 215 by the Monday prior to the program. Limited childcare can be available and must be requested in advance by calling Lori. Children age 8 and older are invited to participate in Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua programs when caregivers participate in Family Resource Center of Greater Nashua programs. Registration can also be done by sending an email to FRCNashuaPrograms@gmail.com. Please specify the name of the workshop you are registering for.
